Tension thickened on stage. Just moments ago, the stuffed animal’s wig had flown off, sending both Ha-neul and Tae-oh into peak embarrassment, while the audience howled with laughter.
“If you laugh one more time, I’m really leaving!” Tae-oh whispered, as Ha-neul puffed out her cheeks.
“You’re the one who started laughing first!”
The crowd cheered, “Again! Again!” Before they knew it, the wig slid forward once more. Ha-neul quickly reached for it, but her hand clumsily collided with Tae-oh’s.
Both jerked their hands back, only for a loud, squeaky noise to echo across the stage.
Off-stage, Su-jin and Ji-min burst into applause. “Seriously, are you two trying to break the NG record tonight?”
Ha-neul’s face turned beet red. Tae-oh awkwardly pushed the stuffed animal towards her.
“Just put this back on.”
Ha-neul rolled her eyes, “Oh please, I’m fine.”
She fussed with the wig, shooting Tae-oh a glance. For a split second, a flash of their past life flickered—awkwardly helping each other, bickering, just like now.
“What? Why are you staring at me?” Tae-oh murmured.
Pretending not to hear, Ha-neul fixed the wig. The audience burst into another round of cheering.
Suddenly, the stage lights shifted, spotlighting just the two of them. The cue for their next line grew closer.
But before Ha-neul could speak, her own hair got tangled in her mic and—whoosh—another wig mishap!
Both froze, staring at each other, wide-eyed.
“Do you think this wig is our destiny or something?” Tae-oh joked in a low voice. Ha-neul couldn’t help giggling.
Applause, camera flashes, the works. Amid the chaos, their eyes met—closer than ever.
Will they actually finish this show without another disaster, or is the universe plotting one more twist? Oblivious to what’s next, the two brace for their next line.
