“Five minutes left! Is everyone ready for the selfie mission?”
The manager’s voice sent a ripple of excitement through the practice room. Haneul glanced at Wooseok, who was already smiling mischievously.
“Shall we share a secret along with our selfies today, Haneul?”
She grinned and nodded. “Hope you’re prepared for mine.”
Across the room, Taeo and Sujin were getting into character. Sujin hooked her arm dramatically through Taeo’s.
“Come on, superstar. You have to look like my real boyfriend!”
Taeo waved a hand awkwardly. “Not so close. This is just for the mission.”
Sujin grinned, purposefully loud. “What, getting shy? Or is someone jealous because Haneul’s watching?”
Haneul’s cheeks warmed. Wooseok seized the moment.
“Ready for our turn? Say cheese, Haneul!”
He placed a hand on her shoulder, holding up his phone. Haneul smiled instinctively, then risked a glance at Taeo.
To her surprise, Taeo met her gaze directly, as if something from another lifetime was stirring between them. Her heart skipped a beat.
Click! Wooseok cheered. “Our very first selfie, Haneul!”
Just then, the manager returned with a twist.
“For the last photo, you have to write a compliment about your partner and post it together!”
Excitement buzzed through the trainees. Wooseok gave Haneul a warm look.
“There’s something I’ve wanted to say to you for a while. Mind if I write it now?”
A little flustered, she nodded. Meanwhile, Taeo hesitated with his phone, stealing glances her way.
Haneul peeked back, catching a flash of déjà vu—a memory of warm handwriting from a past life. Now she was dying to know what Taeo was writing.
“Everyone up front! Group shot time!”
The four lined up for a photo, but Wooseok edged closer to Haneul.
“Hey, are you free after this? I want to talk.”
Taeo frowned and spoke up.
“Actually, I have something to say too.”
Haneul looked from one boy to the other, feeling a wave of confusion. With the selfie mission wrapped up but a double confession looming, she had no idea whose story she wanted to hear first tonight.
