Backstage, Haneul stood frozen, the aftertaste of Taehos confession line making her head spin.
Soojin sauntered over, arms crossed and eyebrows raised.
“Wow, that was cute! You looked so flustered out there. Gonna admit it?”
Haneul frantically waved her hands.
“It was just part of the mission! Nothing more!”
But her cheeks were still suspiciously pink.
Just then, Taehos footsteps echoed down the hall. Their eyes met and, for a few seconds, the world fell awkwardly silent.
Taehos voice was barely above a whisper.
“That line… I meant it. Not just acting, okay?”
Haneul forgot how to breathe for a moment. Before she could muster a reply, Soojin practically dove between them.
“Hold up, is this for real? Are you two, like, in a drama right now or what?”
Taehos ears turned as red as Haneuls cheeks. Haneul couldnt take her eyes off him.
“If you wanna talk… meet me on the rooftop tonight?”
His voice was hopeful, careful, almost shy.
Haneul hesitated, then nodded. That just made Soojin practically explode in teasing.
“Oh my god, is this a couple debut? Should I tell Dispatch?”
Suddenly, their phones buzzed at the exact same time. Manager had texted them.
“Feedback session starting in five. Move it!”
Soojin huffed.
“Seriously? These producers never give you two a break.”
Haneul glanced at Taehos hopeful face. He offered a small nod.
“Afterwards… please come to the rooftop. I really need to talk.”
Trying to calm her racing heart, Haneul headed off with Soojin toward the rehearsal room.
At the end of the hall, Taehos gaze lingered on her. There were still so many words left unspoken between them.
And on the rooftop, their real answer was waiting.
