The stage lights grow brighter. Haneul and Taeyo stand face-to-face, waiting for the final proposal line.
“Do we have to do this for real?” Haneul whispers nervously.
Taeyo replies quietly. “If we’re doing it, let’s make it count.”
The audience chatters with excitement. The real proposal challenge is on.
Haneul grabs the mic. “My line is… kind of cheesy.”
Taeyo claps dramatically. “Mine’s even worse, trust me.”
Haneul squeezes her eyes shut and says, “Okay, but just listen. Taeyo, I want to meet you again in the next life.”
For a moment, silence hangs. Taeyo’s lips curl up in a smile.
“Really? You mean it?”
Haneul blushes and lowers her voice. “Yeah… I really do.”
Taeyo takes the mic and stares at Haneul. “Then promise: next life, you confess first.”
The audience goes wild. Sujin and Jimin cheer from backstage.
Suddenly, Woo-seok dashes onto the stage, shouting playfully, “Time out! Isn’t this against the rules? This is way too sweet!”
Everyone laughs and claps.
Haneul shoots Taeyo a look that says, ‘Seriously?’ Taeyo tries not to laugh, but loses it.
Sujin yells from the sidelines, “Wasn’t this supposed to be fake? I’m starting to doubt it!”
Jimin adds, “You two could win an Oscar for this!”
Haneul turns away, flustered, just as Taeyo gently holds out his hand.
“But you really meant what you said, right?”
Haneul feels those familiar past-life emotions rush in again. Just as she’s about to answer, the producer flicks off the stage lights and yells,
“Next rehearsal, everyone!”
Just like that, the moment scatters. Haneul and Taeyo, still holding hands, share an awkward glance.
Taeyo whispers, “You didn’t hear my answer yet, did you?”
As Haneul starts to nod, Sujin suddenly pops in, playfully batting their hands apart.
“What are you two doing? This isn’t for real, right?”
Startled, Haneul and Taeyo drop hands at once, pretending nothing happened.
As they head backstage, there’s an unmistakable spark—unfinished answers and excitement lingering between them.
