Ha-neul sits on the bench in front of the building, fiddling with her phone. She checks Taeo’s message for the hundredth time.
“Let’s talk in a bit, okay?”
Taeo walks over, his steps hesitant. Their eyes meet for a second, but Ha-neul quickly looks away and pretends to focus on something else.
“So… what did you want to say earlier?”
Taeo hesitates.
“Do you… remember anything from before? Like, weird dreams?”
Ha-neul freezes. Taeo rushes to explain.
“I mean, it just feels strange sometimes. Ever happen to you?”
She nods, and awkward silence falls between them.
After a long pause, Taeo suddenly asks,
“Do you… not like me or something?”
Ha-neul coughs, caught off guard. Right then, Sujin appears again, waving with a mischievous grin.
“What’s this vibe? Is someone about to confess or what~?”
Taeo looks at Ha-neul, flustered. Ha-neul, embarrassed by Sujin’s teasing, stands up abruptly.
“Let’s just go. We still have rehearsal.”
Taeo follows, saying nothing. The air between them is filled with nervous energy and that weird, exciting tension.
As they head inside, they find Jimin and Wooseok waiting for them in the corridor.
“Why are your faces so red? What were you two talking about?”
Ha-neul ducks her head, cheeks burning. Taeo scratches his head, lost for words.
Wooseok grins, teasing them.
“Aren’t you guys supposed to act like a real couple for the next stage anyway?”
Both Ha-neul and Taeo look equally shocked.
“Wait, seriously?”
“This time, it’s not just holding hands. The mission is… a proposal scene!”
Sujin and Jimin clap, making a big fuss.
Ha-neul glances at Taeo, panicked. Taeo gives her a slow smile.
“Well… maybe I’ll tell you how I really feel then.”
Ha-neul’s heart thumps in her chest. But just then, both their phones buzz with a message from their manager.
They share a look, both thinking the same thing: another missed timing.
“Will we ever actually get to talk?”
Ha-neul hurries down the hall toward the manager. Taeo’s gaze lingers behind her. The tension, excitement, and uncertainty between them only grows.
