Memories of a Past Life, Present Stage

August 4, 2026Author: HNF

Haneul was practicing her singing again in front of the dance studio mirror. As a trainee about to debut in a girl group, she felt both nervous and excited. “Once I finish this song, I can finally rest,” she muttered as she hit a high note. Suddenly, an odd sensation washed over her, like a flicker of a memory from a past life.

In that instant, the face of Kang Tae-oh popped into her mind. He was a rookie male idol from a rival agency. Every time they met on stage, they bickered and ended up clashing. But this time felt different—like they recognized each other from before, memories from another life seeping through.

Tae-oh was watching from the back of the studio with a sharp look. “What is Haneul up to now?” he muttered, narrowing his eyes. Deep down, though, he was jealous of her but also strangely drawn to her—something he hadn’t admitted even to himself.

They accidentally bumped into each other in the hallway. Haneul forced a smile toward Tae-oh, but he pretended not to notice it. “I’m worried you’ll mess up my stage again,” Tae-oh teased. Not missing a beat, Haneul shot back, “Why would I mess up your stage? You should worry about yourself.”

Though it was a minor quarrel, there was a strange mix of tension and awkward excitement between them.

Suddenly, Ji-yoo, Haneul’s best friend and the series’ comic relief, appeared. “Hey, you two, stop fighting and try pretending to be a fake couple! Fans love that kind of drama!” Haneul and Tae-oh glanced at each other, flustered.

From their very first encounter, with past life memories, jealousy, and fake couple ideas thrown in, their story started in a complicated and amusing twist.

In the next episode, Haneul and Tae-oh accidentally rehearse together on stage, leading to laughs, tensions, and the slow bloom of feelings. Can these past-life enemies turn their rivalry into something new on the present-day stage?
